zhècì wǒ gěi nǐmén dàilái de chéngyǚ shì bámiáozhùzhǎng. Tā lázìyǘ zhèyàng yígè gùshì:
Gǔsíihòu sòngguō yǒu gè rén, kàndào zìjǐ tiānlǐ de hémiáo zhǎngdé tài màn, xīnlǐ hěn zhāojí.
Yìtiān, tā gāncuǐ xià tián dòngshǒu bǎ hémiáo yì zhū zhū dì wǎngshàng bágāo yì jíe. Tā píbeìbúkān dì huídào jiālǐ, duì jiālǐ rén shuō :’jīntiān kě bǎ wǒ leìhuaǐ le! Wǒ yíxiàzǐ ràng hémiáo zhǎng gāo le xǚ duō!”
Zhègè chéngyǚ de yǜyì shì: rénhé shìwù dōuyǒu zìjǐ de guīlǜ; rūguǒ wéifǎn shìwù fāzhǎn de kèguān guīlǜ, jíyǘqíuchéng, fǎnér huàishì.

the idiom is "bámiáozhùzhǎng" and is taken from a story.
The story tells us of a man from Song Kuo (Song Kuo was a small country in Warring States Period of ancient China.). When he saw his crops were growing slowly, he was very worried. So one day, he pulled on the crops with his hands to make the plants look taller than they were before.
After he was finished, he was exhausted. When he got home, the man said to his family:” I'm worn out, but I have made the crops grow faster than ever.”
His son heard that and then immediately went to the field. He saw that all of the crops were wilted.
This idiom means that everything has its rule. If you break the rule, you must be punished. The attempt to succeed quickly only makes matter worse.
